5eme have been looking at why people in the Middle Ages did not make long journeys of discovery and one man who inspired them to set off, Marco Polo. We looked at a range of historical sources, listened to an informative song and then wrote letters as though we were heading out to see the world.

Last term in 4eme we studied at a piece of travel writing by Bill Bryson. After a fantastic trip to London the students wrote up their experience in his style, the results had me laughing out loud.
After studying the Renaissance last term, 5eme1 and 5eme3 re-created some of the masterpieces from this period and showed them off in their own mini-museum. Continue reading
